Department of Motor Vehicle (RTO) क्या है?
Regional Transport Office यानी RTO एक सरकारी संस्था है जो Motor Vehicles Act 1988 के तहत काम करती है और vehicles तथा drivers का national database maintain करती है। PB Partners
Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) के अंतर्गत पूरे देश में 1300 से ज़्यादा RTO offices हैं जो Registration Certificate और Driving Licence जारी करते हैं — यह दोनों documents पूरे भारत में valid होते हैं। Insurance Dekho
RTO के 8 मुख्य काम
1. Vehicle Registration RTO नई और पुरानी गाड़ियों को register करता है, unique registration number assign करता है और Registration Certificate (RC) जारी करता है — Motor Vehicles Act के अनुसार हर vehicle का registration nearest RTO में होना ज़रूरी है। HDFC ERGO

Online Services — अब RTO जाने की ज़रूरत कम हो गई
Parivahan Sewa portal पर अब ज़्यादातर RTO transactions digitally हो जाते हैं — RC details check, DL status, e-challan payment, appointment booking और documents upload सब online available है। Insurance Dekho

2026 में RTO के नए Rules
2026 में RTO में कई बदलाव आए हैं — FASTag national highways पर mandatory है और इसका उपयोग न करने पर penalty लगती है, vehicle fitness और insurance requirements सख्त हुई हैं, और commercial vehicles के लिए aggregators और permit systems के नए guidelines जारी हुए हैं। Insurance Dekho
RTO जाने से पहले यह ज़रूर करें
